Kyle Troyer is an architectural designer and educator. He is currently a Lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s School of Architecture, where he was recently awarded the Browns Traveling Fellowship (2024). In addition to teaching, he is a Lead Designer at Endemic Architecture. Prior to today, he has held teaching positions at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, and has contributed to the firms of Hume Architecture, FORMA NY, and Overlay Office.

He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, where he was the recipient of the following awards for his academic achievements;  the Faculty Prize in Architecture, the Kanter Tritsch Prize in Energy and Architecture Innovation, the Mario J. Romanach Fellowship, the First Prize E. Lewis Dales Traveling Fellowship, the Schenk-Woodman Merit Scholarship, and the Newberry Scholarship. He received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Kent State University College of Architecture and Environmental Design.

His work has been recognized and published in venues such as the Venice Biennale, the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design, Pressing Matters X-XII, The Architect’s Newspaper, and amongst a variety of competitions. Much of this work explores how a range of material systems—those often overlooked or undervalued—can be reimagined through novel assemblies and hybrid details. His research operates at the intersection of material informality and tectonic experimentation, asking how these strategies might produce new architectural aesthetics and design logics.
