THREE SQUARES

Three squares—identical in origin, divergent in position—generate this drawing's complexity. Each is shifted, rotated, and layered against the others, so that simple repetition becomes a field of proportional consequence. No new shapes are introduced; instead, the squares' edges and overlaps produce secondary geometries—new rectangles, triangles, and intervals—legible only in relation to one another. Scale remains constant, yet meaning accumulates through position and order. The drawing argues that complexity need not come from additional form, but from the accumulated relationships between simple, repeated elements. What results is a proportional system: self-referential, internally consistent, and generative of conditions beyond its original terms.
